Founded in 1970, Hammer and Nails remains a family run business to this day.
In April 2025, the shop celebrated its 37th year of ownership by Andrew and Angela Mabin
who took over in 1988. Since then Hammer and Nails has expanded
from the old bay-windowed shop, still very visible at 19 Bolton Street,
into adjacent premises offering a considerably improved range and shopping experience.
We are by far the longest established Hardware, DIY and Traditional Ironmongery business in Brixham and much of Devon
which is something we are all tremendously proud of.
We remain one of the few outlets where you can still purchase
a single woodscrew, a handful of nails or a single hinge - old school.
Our friendly and knowledgeable staff have over 100 years of accumulated experience in a multitude of trades
and we do our level best to answer and solve the majority of challenges brought to us!
We try to offer you competitive prices and seldom a day passes without someone
noticing how often we undercut the bigger DIY sheds.
